As a web designer, I am always looking for tools that make my job more efficient, while contributing to the quality of the end product. I have found one such tool. A website that features very nice and original icon designs. Icons are the little symbols used for such things as buttons, arrows , email link graphics, etc. If you want some great looking icons (they are one of those small details that add polish to your web designs) , go to http://www.iconbuffet.com/stock_icons/index.html.

Web Designer Ramblings - Photo of The Day

The story behind this photo is a bit unusual. I was driving around hoping to catch a good shot of lightning in the Sandia Mountains (Albuquerque, New Mexico). I was not successful. However, this marvelous light show took place as the sunset's afterglow met the impending storm clouds behind me. The result was a marvelous light show that peaked for about two minutes before fading. It was spectacular!
You can see more photography at my new website about Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In the Twilight Hour . . .

You may be beginning to wonder If I want to be a web designer or a photographer. Well, I think one definitely compliments the other! This shot was taken recently from my car, while waiting for the light to change at an intersection in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The silhouetted structure is some sort of an amusement park water-ride. Just look at that sunset! There is so much beauty and drama in creation!
For all of you techheads . . . This photo was shot with a Panasonic Lumix FZ20 at 38mm, 1/160 second shutter speed, f/4. ISO 200. Of course, it was shot handheld, using the optical image stabilizer. Digital noise was removed using Noiseware.

Web Designer Ramblings - Photo of the Day

This photo shows the desert landscape in New Mexico off Interstate I-25 between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. I have developed a fascination with this part of the country (US). It's beauty lies in its ruggedness, scale and hardy complexity. Just look at this scene. The majestic mountain backdrops . . . the rugged landscape . . . the range of colors . . . this is beautiful country!
This photo taken with a Panasonic Lumix FZ20.

Web Designer Ramblings - Photo of the Day

Do you somehow get the impression that I like to photograph flowers? As a web designer, I am always conscious of the quality of design around me. After all, design is my job. The inherent beauty and diversity of flowers speaks volumes about the existence of a supremely talented creator. The theory of evolution cannot explain the depth of beauty and thoughtful design we take for granted in nature.
This photo taken with my reliable Minolta X-370, Cosina 75-300mm f4.5 lens (at 300mm) on Kodak Ultracolor 400 film (400 asa). See more flower photography at The Flowers of Albuquerque website.
