New Web Design In Our Portfolio

psychologist web design

This is a web design we recently completed for a Psychologist and Personal Life Coaching professional that we've added to our portfolio. Simplicity and joy are the themes of this design. It also has a warmth that makes it distinct from the staid, clinical look typical of health professional websites. Visit our web design portfolio for a closer look!

Web Designer Ramblings Photo of the Day

Web Designer Photo of the Day

Today's Web Designer Ramblings Photo of the Day features one of my favorite after-work hiking trails. The rugged red rock formations of Papago Park is perhaps one of the most interesting urban park settings in the United States. Set in the heart of downtown Phoenix, yet, it feels miles away. The occasional coyote sighting adds to the sense of wilderness in this wonderful park. A Papago hike perfect way to end the day, especially during the pleasantly cool winter months.

Color Restraint in Web Design

Good taste in web design often means keeping things simple. Avoiding visual clutter can be achieved by limiting the number of colors used used in web design as well. We discuss the benefits of this approach in our web design guide here.

Web Designer Ramblings Photo of the Day

Web Designer Ramblings Photo of the Day

I never thought that I would develop such a fascination with rock . . . Well, I have since moving to the southwestern United States. Here is one of the objects of my fascination: The red rock formations of Papago Park, Phoenix, Arizona. This photo shows the "Hole-In-The-Rock" a famous landmark in the park. This is a great place for a hike, biking or fishing!

Green Web Design

green web design

The new green products are design driven, and web design must meet this sophisticated new market. Many of the newer green products carry designer labels and style in a market segment that traditionally married the words dowdy and eco-friendly. We have written an article on creating web design for the emerging online green market in the Newark1 web design guide.

Design Is More Than Packaging . . .

design - thinking

"Properly used, design thinking can weave together elements of demographics, research, environmental factors, psychology, anthropology and sociology to generate novel solutions to some of the most puzzling problems in business." This quote, from the article entitled "Design Is More Than Packaging" in the Business Section of the New York Times, provides a fascinating look into the expanding role of design in corporate America. "Clearly, if all your competition is doing the same, then differentiation is tough. In order to innovate, we have to have new alternatives and new solutions to problems, and that is what design can do.”" Read the full article here.

Resort Web Design

Resort Web Design

This is a web design for a resort on the Riviera Maya in Mexico. This was part of a temporary website developed as part of a real estate promotion for luxury residential properties in this beautiful resort.

Real Estate Broker Web Design Update

Real Estate Web Design Image

This real estate broker web design recently updated in our portfolio, represents a maverick approach to web design for real estate marketing. Rather than focusing on a dry listing of properties on the home page, we wanted to convey the emotional appeal of southwestern living to the relocating home buyer. By conveying the romance and style of an Albuquerque, New Mexico home, we enhance the appeal of the properties offered by our client in an exciting way.

Real Estate Web Design

real estate web design

Our web design portfolio features websites created for real estate brokers, one of the most popular markets we design for. This web design was recently developed for a real estate broker in the Washington, D.C. area. He specializes in metropolitan brownstone homes with high-design features. We provided a web design that reflects the aesthetic principles of the management team (they have a background in interior design) and provides them with easy-to-use tools for updating and adding fresh content.

Boutique Web Design from Our Portfolio

We recently updated the Boutique Web Design page in our portfolio. This website was created for one of our first paying customers ten years ago! It is amazing to consider how fast Internet technology has advanced in a decade. Do you remember the limitations of the 256 color palette and dithered colors on VGA computer screens? The garish colors of early websites set a trend in bad taste that still afflicts the Web. Also, the slow speed of early modems also limited the graphic potential of early websites.

The boutique web design we developed is a good example of how pioneering web designers used creative means of getting around the technical limitations of early web technology to create good design!
