The Art of Rolling Sculpture

When the automobile industry was truly an industry in this country, it rolled out some of the most audacious sculptures in chrome and steel ever made. Swooping curves and generous dollops of chrome were shaped into rolling platforms that did more than transport; they were testimonies to the jet age, the lure of speed, and exuberant visions. The design that made Detroit was uninhibited and thrilling, with style and heft that, well, we can no longer afford to indulge.

We can, however, revisit it with a wonderful blog I discovered named "Chrome Fin."
