Restless Web Design

It is about 4:00 in the early morning as I write this post. Driven by my need for web design excellence, I have done yet another revision on my web design portfolio. This new design is perhaps the boldest use of color you will see in my portfolio. Bold and splashy, it is designed to fire up business in our less than healthy economy. Get your red hot web design here . . . fresh from the oven!

I don't know about you, but I am convinced that the current economic crisis is not a recession but a true depression. Our landscape is littered with so many economic fatalities. Of course, it does not look like a depression because we all appear prosperous. We still drive nice looking cars and live in newly developed neighborhoods funded by massive amounts of personal debt. Even the poor don't look very poor. However, when a government must give massive life-support to all of its largest industries simultaneously, it does not bode well. We are entering a new age of reduced expectations. People will be working harder for less. The illusionary prosperity bubble has burst.

And, it is not just the economy. The very fabric of society, the glue that holds people together is coming apart. A recent article in the New York Times reported on a new trend in many parts of the country where working men and teenagers from "stable" homes are attacking and killing homeless people for sport. So much so, that many states and Congress are considering making attacks on the homeless a hate crime. This chilling trend speaks to the loss of compassion and respect for life in our society. We no longer care about our neighbor. Reality TV shows continually remind us that the bad guy always wins. Many feel that these are truly the "last days" spoken of in the Bible. The evidence around us makes that hard to dispute!
