The Conservancy operates four programs:

The Community Greening Program brings local residents, businesses, organizations and schools together to implement greening strategies for neighborhoods. The objective is to transform physically blighted blocks into well cared for, environmentally revitalized areas with productive open spaces.

The Education Program, through the utilization of innovative, hands-on teaching methods, educates Newark's children about the environment and provides reports to teachers, as well as trains teachers to integrate their curriculum with environmental themes.

The Environmental Justice Outreach Program strives to empower inner-city residents to recognize their colletive power and ability to improve their environment, while working to build partnerships topromote urban environmental issues.

The Conservancy's Job Training Programs have enables youth and community residents to acquire marketable skills through landscaping and horticultural training while improving the environment of Newark and surrounding communities. Our Training Progam provides supervised training to students, the unemployed, employees of local businesses, and even inmates on work release programs.
