I enjoyed creating this web design for an ARTS MANAGEMENT company that represents performers with roots in the unique cultures and aesthetics of HAWAI‘I, AOTEAROA (NEW ZEALAND) and other areas of the Pacific region

One of the biggest challenges that came with this project was creating a web design that was culturally authentic. That meant doing quite a bit of homework, and close consultation with my well informed client to insure that the web design was a respectful and accurate representation of the cultures it represented.
The color palette is a departure from what is often seen in my web design. That too meant stretching my visual vocabulary. This vivid color palette is borrowed from joyful colors often seen in Hawaiian fabrics and the local cultures.

This web site strikes a careful balance between design and functionality. Giving the client the ability to quickly edit, add, and delete content with ease was a top priority, taking precedence over design. Therefore, the entire web site is controlled by an easy to use Content Management System that gives our client complete control of all content. She can easily add new pages, upload downloadable files and photos, add music samples, as easily as using her favorite word processing program. In fact, more than half of the content pages in this web site were added by the client within a day after a half hour of telephone training that we provided. The Content Management System is that easy to learn!
Overall, the web design meets our clients expectations, and provides a beautiful and compelling online introduction to the artists she represents.
