Free Stock Photos Source!

I am often asked for sources of great cheap and free stock art and photos suitable for web design. Web designers are inherently a cheap bunch of people (including myself). Indeed, we should be. The web is the most cost-effective means of personal expression. Well, fret no more fellow web designers, we have found the motherlode of free stock photos!

INERTIASTOCK.XCHNG is a free source of stock photos run by a web design studio in Hungary. It contains stock photos submitted by volunteer members all over the world. The artwork tends to more conceptual and less commercial than what is typically offered in commercial stock photo shops. Much of it is shot with digital cameras. Also, there is a heavy European bias in the art (it is a European source). However, much of it is quite good and very creative. This website contains links to other free stock photo websites as well.
