The American wigeon, also known as American widgeon or baldpate, is a species of dabbling duck found in North America. It is the New World counterpart of the Eurasian wigeon. - Wikipedia.
I looked forward to the winter season in Phoenix because it would become the host to a number of migrating species of birds and ducks, including this American Wigeon. After a day spent designing websites, I would often stop at the fishing ponds at Papago Park to enjoy the antics of the many migrating ducks that made them a winter home. In the early evening, the winter sun was low on the horizon, giving the water a deep blue cast, which added a beautiful background to these handsomely attired birds.
