This is a web design done nearly twelve years ago for The Rio Grande Botanic Garden in Albuquerque. It features my personal photography (Don Peterson, webdesignportfolio.us). Photographing flowers at the Rio Grande Botanic Garden was on of my favorite pastimes during the time I spent in Albuquerque, New Mexico. However, as beautiful as this attraction was, few knew about it. So I took the initiative to do a bit of voluntary promotion by creating a personal web site that featured my favorite photographs captured in this lovely botanic garden.
The photos in this website design were all shot on negative film, and processed at the local Walmart (remember when you could do that). For you 35mm film buffs, these images were shot on Kodak Ultracolor 100 and 400. I do miss that film stock. It was capable of (as you can see) extraordinary color rendition. The negatives were all scanned on a Nikon Cool V film scanner.
This web design is a labor of love, and was designed to capture the hearts of viewers by showing the delightful spectacle of color offered by the flowers on display in this attraction. This flower gallery web site became a local sensation, and provided positive press for both the Rio Grande Botanic Garden and my web design business. I had great pleasure creating it, and was happy to see it promote one of the most delightful attractions in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
This website is no longer online. However, you can see my flower photography in current gallery. Do you want a website that showcases local natural beauty or your photography? Contact Don Peterson for a free no-obligation discussion and website evaluation.
