Old Town, Albuquerque, New Mexico is the oldest section of Albuquerque that dates back to the founding of the city by the Spanish in 1706. Today, this historic district is a popular shopping and tourist destination. Old Town comprises about ten blocks of historic adobe buildings grouped around a central plaza. The architecture of this area is rich with Pueblo-Spanish style architecture, an adaptation of Native American Adobe architecture by early Spanish settlers.
